Hanging it up.

Since his first day as a member of the Robots of Doom Wayne Clark had made his presence felt. Wayne a US expat now living in the UK, had grown up playing baseball and had spent several seasons gracing the softball fields of Manchester. However Wayne had the calling to once again play the great game of baseball and joined the Robots in 2008.
With all his contributions on the field it is with some regret that veteran 2nd baseman Wayne Clark has confirmed his unavailability for the 2010 Bolton baseball season. Wayne made his debut at the beginning of the 2008 season and soon established his place in the Robots infield. The majority of his time was spent at 2nd base but in his 2 years with the club he also saw time behind the plate, at 1st, at 3rd and in the outfield as well as very occasional stints on the mound. He became known for having a very good glove (winning a gold glove in 2009) in the field and equally for an almost unerring ability to put the ball in play when batting, he very rarely struck out.
Due to a change of job and an imminent house move to Stoke it now seems almost certain that Clark has played his last game for the Robots. He confirms that he'll remain a Robot at heart and is highly unlikely to pull on the uniform of any other team - retirement beckons! Wayne says that he'll keep an eye out for Bolton results and is optimistic for the Robots progressing to post-season action. Finally he wants to pass on his thanks to GM Norburn and all of his team-mates for their support during his short time with the team.
Bolton Baseball Club would like to thank Wayne for his time and commitment to the club and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
