Power Up

Excitement is brewing as the Robots of Doom have powered up and are ready to defend their 2010 league championship and look to repeat in 2011.  The Robots under new leadership will also be looking to gain play-off success for the first time.  The key to the Robots success will be full power and full on baseball.

Power Hitting will be a key to the Robots success in 2011.  Zak O’Boyle continues to develop in the one of the league’s elite players.  Zak has always shows great bat skill and plate discipline.  John Baxendale looks to return to the Robots in 2011 and he will be bringing some big lumber with him to further fuel the Robots offence.  New comers to the club will also offer a surprise to other clubs when the full on powered up offence takes to the field.

Power Pitching will be strength of the Robots again in 20111 and anyone who thought the pitching staff of 2010 was deep will be in for a surprise as the 2011 pitching staff is full of power.  Jamie Sherlock dominated the league in 2010 and has every ambition of doing the same again after a rigorous off season training program.  Zak O’Boyle who has worked hard to develop his pitching skills will look to over-power other teams in 2011.  Youngsters Dale Hargan and Ryan Patterson will also b powering up and ready for action in 2011, these young arms are full of fuel and ready to dominate other teams.  New rookies to the team have shown strong arms and the ability to power though batters and they will be given the chance to show their stuff in 2011.

Power Defense will be key for the team this year.  From the hot corner to deep in right field the Robots have power defense at the ready.  Tony Yogi Berry will be taking his usual place at shortstop to make his usual gold glove plays.  Kieran O’Leary one of last year’s rookie sensations will continue to power up and prove he deserves a spot in the starting line-up.  Team captain Seb Yaseen will have a great choice of veterans and rookies to use in a fully powered up infield.

Power Base Running, with youth experience and an intense preseason training program focused on fitness this year’s robots will hit the field in peak physical condition ready to blaze through the base paths in the north of England.  The usual suspect of Berry, O’Boyle, Clifton, Hargan will lead the way along with newcomers and rookies ready to put the pressure on the oppositions defense.

All in all the Robots of Doom are full powered up and ready for the 2011 season to begin.
