Bolton Baseball are looking for the next Rookie of the Year. It could be you, but to be in with the chance you need to grab a glove and take to the diamond.

But, I hear you say, why baseball?

Excerpt from message board post.

It is a question that plagues fans of every "minority" sport but more so those of us that enjoy sports born of another culture. I’d love to hear a sumo fan trying to explain the nuances of that sport to the average UK Joe!

One attraction of Baseball is that it is very inclusive, like other sports you have to have great ability to compete at the top level but you do not have to have a specific body type. In Baseball there are skinny guys, fat guys (Baxi, that means you!), tall guys, short guys, athletic guys, slobbish guys indeed pretty much every physical form known to mankind can be spotted on a Baseball diamond and somehow that is good to see.

It seems to me that Baseball is a sport that is open to anyone.

The excerpt above really is true. Don't believe me? Come along to one of our training sessions and you'll see the widest range of body shape and ability of any of your more "normal" sports clubs. We welcome all newcomers regardless of experience or knowledge of the game. All we ask is that you are enthusiastic about learning more about and/or playing baseball.

No equipment is neccessary at first as we always have a few spare mitts lying around, although if you decide to take up the game, you'll probably want to buy your own.

So come along and join in one of the fastest growing sports in Britain. You never know, you could be the next one to win one of the games most coveted titles!
